Last Will and Testament

A last will and testament is an important legal document and the cornerstone of many estate plans. A will serves several important functions including but not limited to:
  1. Insuring that your real and personal property is distributed in accordance with your wishes.
  2. Establishing the guardians of any of your minor children.
  3. Ensuring that your choice for executor or administrator is honored.
  4. Conveying your burial instructions, (including cremations) to your loved ones.
  5. Helping to minimize estate taxes.
  6. Simplifying the probate process.
  7. A last will and testament is a custom document tailored to your particular situation.

Durable Power of Attorney

The Durable Power of Attorney allows your designated agent to act on behalf of you and/or your property. There are different types of Durable Power of Attorneys. A Durable Power can be effective immediately, for a specific duration or purpose, or may take effect upon your incapacity. Like the Will and Trust, this is an important part of your estate plan.

Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care

Like the Durable Power of Attorney, this document allows your designated agent to make health care decisions for you in the event of your incapacity.

Living Will/Directive to Physician

A Directive to Physician (commonly called a "living will") is a document that instructs a physician of your wishes should you become terminally ill and completely dependent on life support to remain alive. The document instructs the physician that should this occur, and your death is imminent as determined by two or more physicians that you wish to be taken off of the life support and permitted to die naturally.

Our will package includes a last will and testament, a durable power of attorney, a durable power of attorney for health care, and a living/directive to physician. The cost of a Will package may vary depending on it's complexity, but in most instances wills should cost approximately $500. We will provide you with an estimate of the fees before we begin any legal work.
