Forming a Texas Limited Liability Company

A limited liability company is an unincorporated business entity which is a hybrid of a corporation and a limited partnership. It has the powers provided for a corporation under the Texas Business Corporation Act and of a limited partnership under the Texas Revised Limited Partnership Act. A limited liability company provides its members (rather than shareholders or partners) with limited liability and may provide tax advantages without the restrictions imposed on subchapter S corporations and limited partnerships.

Legal fees for forming a Texas Limited Liability Company are $500 plus filing fees. This includes two hours of legal consultation, and preparation of all necessary limited liability company documents.
